Murukkandi Railway Station which hold unforgettable memories about `Yaldevi` captured by SLA.

Tuesday, 30 September 2008 - 10:14 AM SL Time

LTTE had blown up the Yaldevi (Jaffana bound train service at that time) train which left Jaffna fort on the 20th of may 1985. 9 coaches out of 13 of the train were blasted by LTTE. 7 Tamils and 40 soldiers who were returning to Colombo for their vacation were killed in the blast. After that the Railway station was neglected for 23 years until brave soldiers capture the area few days ago.

	Sorry Lalith....... The station deserted and the Tablet missing............. They are proceeding to Killi via A9. Shall meet meet up when Yaldevi resumes, at Murukandi. BTW do you like me to appoint you as the SM Murukandi??
