| Cant give any thing better than the Buddhism which came from India to Sri Lanka. It's good that PM acknowledge Sri Lanka is modeled under Buddhism which is from India not many Buddhist in Sri Lanka seems to practice other than to pontificate about it s virtue. See how influential India to Sri Lanka I can picture the agony of Sri Lankan Buddhist Sinhalese to read a comment like this. |

The credit should go to Myanmar, who saved our Buddhism in Kandiyan era. If not for Myanmar, entire that whould have been the end of Buddhism in SL. There were no monk available when the new Buddhist monk arrived from Myanmar.
Thanks for Dutch who supplied the ships for the Monks to come to sri lanka.
Today not even Malwathu Maha Nayaka knows the names of the Myanmar Monks. I guess |

This is news! So, it may be fair to say that if Portugese, Dutch, and British were not there, there will be no Buddhizm, there will be no ports, no rail roads, and no toilets. And not even Silvas, Mendises, to play even cricket.
What a proud nation! Edited By - EEELamaya - 30 Sep 2008 03:12:54 GMT |
