WASHINGTON - Congress is close to passing legislation that would buy extra time to finalize an agreement intended to save the emerging Internet radio market from a crippling hike in copyright royalty rates.

The House on Saturday unanimously passed a bill sponsored by Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Wash., that would greenlight an anticipated agreement between Webcasters and SoundExchange, a nonprofit that collects royalties on behalf of recording copyright owners and artists from Internet radio stations and other digital radio services.

Meanwhile LTTE's insurgent operations in the east are still continuing primarily in STF controlled areas. STF was withdrawn from Batticaloa town following several attacks against the Security Forces by LTTE infiltrators. The Army filled in the void and sent in two Military Intelligence teams headed by two officers from Trincomalee. All infiltrators were systematically identified and gunned down.

During periods of decline, the Sri Lankan monastic lineage was revived through contact with Myanmar and Thailand. Periods of Mahayana influence, as well as official neglect under colonial rule, created great challenges for Theravada Buddhist institutions in Sri Lanka, but repeated revivals and resurgences- most recently in the 19th century CE- have kept the Theravada tradition alive for over 2000 years
