Troops are now in operation in the general area of Manniyakulam on the A32 front. Manniyakulam is further 12 km NE of Nachchikuda, East of A32 and 22 km SE of Pooneryn.

An Italian employee of a UN sponsored NGO in LTTE territory, reported to the UN that he has quit to fight for the LTTE. The government was not surprised at this, and has complained to the UN for years that many of the NGOs in LTTE territory were basically working for the LTTE, and helping obtain food and other aid for the LTTE.

The reports of the engagement of Indian military radar operators in the wake of an attack by the Tigers on Sri Lankan Forces Vanni Headquarters (SF-HQ) in Vavuniyaa, in which at least two Indian personnel were wounded, have fuelled the protests in Tamil Nadu against Indian military aid to Colombo against Tamils.
We could get more superior 3D radar from Chinese, we don't need cheap out mode radar from India. it is India that keep saying it will provide us necessary equipment to defeat the terrorists.
