I really feel bad for civilians. I think the best thing that LTTE can do now is to give up arms just for the sake of saving lives. Velu made a mess of the opportunity he had. He goofed big time. He got over confident of LTTE's strength. This whole scenerio will end up with nothing for tamil community. Nothing but loss of life.
Govt on the other hand has no incentive to devolve power which is not good in the long run. They are not even talking about it anymore. Kudos to SLDF heros who smashed invincibility of LTTE (claimed by its supporters including SLMM folks). But the govt has to come to the party now with a political solution. |

More tamils get killed by tamils themselves. When you use your own population as human shields, you are endangering their lives. It is like going to fight with someone and pushing your own family to the front and hide behind. You guys are more interested putting blame on the govt after civilians get killed in the cross fire. Political agenda has overtaken everything else.
I wasnt making any political arguments, just said what I thought best for the people. Right now, the best thing is for LTTE to surrender which will spare many lives.
Second option is to let the civlians go and fight with SLA to the death like true warriors.

Man, you do not understand the meaning of a 'liberation struggle.' Tamils are 100% behind Tigers. And, the Tamils are majority in NE. There is no way that an invading army can bring these Tamils under the Sinhala domination. Tigers may run away to jungles or even to TN, but, the Tamil people's support will not run away. The Tamil people will eventually make Tigers win! That is why we feel confident! |
