Berty,
I asked the same question i asked from andy..(he has not replied me) and Dewey said Gosl shouls have a ceasefire to try and get the tamil people out..that may be a smart answer..
No way to a ceasefire! I think Sri Lanka has had enough ceasefires, and we all know what the ceasefires are used for by the LTTE! So there's no resting this forward push by the GoSL!
Regarding your question about civilans that are still left in the conflict zone.... no, the SLA should not kill them, BUT the SLA cannot guarantee their safety because the civilans are still under LTTE control! The SLA couldn't guarantee their safety before either, but now, the SLA are marching forward, and more and more civilans are being affected as new land is being liberated by the SLA! The GoSL do not know what the LTTE will do, so the GoSL cannot guarantee any safety while the civilans are still under LTTE control.
Also, this is why aid workers are asked to not enter, because the GoSL cannot guarantee their safety!
The GoSL have setup a safe corridor to allow civilans to move through, but if the LTTE are not allowing that, and are keeping them as hostages, then why would we think that the LTTE will allow them to leave during a ceasefire arrangement??? |

Guys this GOSL operation is like a Cesarean operation.
ie: asking this husband if he wants the wife to live or the child.
The GOSl is going thru' the same thing. But, to kill the mother(LTTE) is not possible as the children are with the mother. But the
mother is a monster using the children for it to survive. That is why the GOSL is not carpet bombing KIlli.
War is the dirtiest game in our universe! If you don't agree, can
you please up @date my memory ?Please please, pretty please?
Pls emember people do die in line of duty and also in friendly fire! |

As per many Sri Lankan experieces these aid workers are not giving proper aids for anybody. They are the fund raising organizations using many of conflicts in each country. Means they have the money only if the conflicts are there. So why they dont support to LTTE to create violances ??? Normal employees of these aid organizations are getting much higher salarieas and they living very comfortably because of these situation.
GOSL still prtovides food, shelter, medicine and all GOSL salaries and aids to poor poeple in WAnni. Not these organizations. These people are only conducting seminars, workshops and etc., Very minor effect to the poor poeple concerned in Wanni.
This is the very good decision that GOSL has taken and this need be taken in earlier. |

Read... this is from the source......
'Marco.G..... a US military analyst in the Iraq invasion.
Now, this guy has left the US Military and has joined the Human Rights Watch as an analyst in military affairs.
'This is what he has told 60 minutes+' on 11/09/2008
When US military invaded Iraq, they dropped 2000lbs bombs on places where enemy combatants were suspected to be in hiding.
The defence department accepts upto 30 civillian deaths at any of these bombings.
If the civillian death toll is above 30, then the US military must report such incidents to Secy/Defence & that was Donald Rumsfeld.
According to Marco.G, there had been over 50 such bombings and he states that he was not sure whether the US military was able kill a single enemy combatants,
BUT
Of course there were civillian death 30persons X 50=....
But none of these incidents were reported to the Secy/Defence as they believed that there were no more than 30 civillian deaths at a time.
Taking these facts into concideration, SLAF have been very cautious in their approach........
So, you see.. one standard for the US/Brittain & the West and one for Sri Lanka.
This is evidence.... The source is within & now an employee of the HRW.... What is HRW pointing the accusing finger at SL ?????????
Double standards by the Human Rights Watch...disgusting
Unfortunately in SL, there is no war ????????? |
