No countries should intervene into other countries internal matters, and we would not let it to happen to our country, the Premier said on Saturday at Samanala playgrounds in Galle, commemorating the 86th International Co-operative Day.

Sri Lanka never went to the Election Commissioner of the United States, when the results of the last US Presidential Election getting delayed said Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wikramanayake.

We will not cease our humanitarian offensive, until the last terrorist is killed reiterated the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Wikramanayake made this statement weeks after the US Ambassador Robert Blake met the Sri Lanka Election Commissioner during last Provincial election period. Mr. Robert Blake recently attempted to get involved in the recent questioning of Western Peoples Front Leader and Civil Monitoring Commission Convener Mano Ganesan by the Terrorist Investigation Department. The US Ambassador reportedly has told that the US government would be closely monitoring the situation.

However independent sources have the doubt whether Mr. Blake has the same concern over daily civilian casualties in Afganistan, which also includes children. They further question the Hon. US Ambassador s Concerns about Guantanamo Bay Prison and Iraq.

Int l cricket to reach Batti
JBIC, WB to boost eastern development

The reawakening programme of the Eastern Province, initiated by the United People s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) government led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is expected to culminate with the setting up of an international cricket stadium in Batticaloa.

While sports in the east will be given a facelift, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) will also pump in development funds to the tune of US$ 75 million, to develop the east.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLCB) is at present exploring the possibility of holding the first international cricket match in the east by 2010.

A top level delegation led by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board Interim Committee Chairman Arjuna Ranatunge visited the east recently to discuss the possibility of developing three play grounds in each district namely Batticaloa, Ampara and Trincomalee.

The SLCB delegation met with Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivenesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillaiyan and Eastern Provincial Council Sports Minister M.L.A.M. Hisbullah recently in Trincomalee and decided to prepare a blueprint soon to develop sports in the east.

SLCB interim committee chairman Arjuna Ranatunge told The Nation that the discussion he had with Pillaiyan and Hisbullah was cordial and added he was impressed by the enthusiasm shown by the entire Eastern Provincial Council towards developing sports in the east.

The Chief Minister was very concerned about sports development and we agreed to initially develop school cricket, he said.
Ranatunge said the SLCB will help develop school and club level cricket in the east as soon as possible. There is a great potential for sports in the east. We know that there are good fast bowlers in the north and east and our intention is to use them in our national cricket, he said.

Sri Lanka is not only country which faces difficulties in getting foreign aid but also other african countries too who are deeply involved into civil war.

German and other european countries have their own obligations to help the new admitted eastern european countries and these countries are undeer European Union.

the is may be reason why German,Gret Britain and France focus strongly on these countries and refuse to give aide to Sri Lanka.

So sri Lanka can be isolated if this war continues.

It is not a joke to read in the news papers that Sri lankan gouvernment gives priority to the war other than schools, hospitals and food. Sri Lanka has spent nearly 1.5 billions dollars just for the year 2008 and all foreign missions in Colombo are watching the real situtation.

Instead of peace talks with even with the moderate Tamil leaders, Sri Lanka wants to go ahead to continue this war and western countries can not blindly give aides to Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is not so important for these countries. But eastern european countries are more and more important for Europe and United states.

so little sinhalese idiots leaders should understand how far they have destroyed this Island and isolated from the international communities..!

Real Modayas.

I am ashamed to stay here in United Sates ! I am not joking ! These powers are going after money and material, they are lost.

They dont care about their parents, unless its mothers day, no spirituality. They have many houses for rich but none have a home. Average americans work 2-3 jobs to pay bills.

Healthcare is a inductry , education is an industry, everything is about money!

There are decent educated good people, but Govt has been corrupt because Judail influences.

Women are all sex symbols, grand mas at 75 looking to botox and face lift operations and look completely rediculous!

Men go to Jims and pump their muscles and take different women and go to bars. What a low life. Husband wife fidelity forgetabt it !

Holistic, riteous lives are never heard here.

I am not staying here ! I am sick of here !!
