Berty:
I read in a recent edition of The Sunday Leader that a minister who is from Beruwela has not declared his assets. I am personally aware that he has achieved much after he became a politician.
this is happening for decades.
At one time JRJ had said 'they spend lot of money to become elected. So let them earn that money'.
How come Sunday LEader talk only now when there are many UNP MPs did the same thing and UNP govts also kept silent.
There are many UNP politicians who became rich with corruptions. |

Minister admits to Human Rights violations in Sri Lanka
A senior government minister has admitted to human rights violations taking place in the country.
Investment Development Minister, Prof. G.L. Pieris has reportedly told the BBC Sandeshaya that 'the international community should understand the context in which these abuses are taking place.'
Prof. Pieris, who is currently in London to promote investments, had reportedly told the media that as a government Sri Lanka has a duty to protect civilians from 'explosions and such kind of incidents.'
Prof. Pieris comment comes at a time Sri Lanka is preparing to submit its application to European Union before October 31 for a renewal of the GSP+ facility.
Prof. Peiris had also said, 'The criteria are complex and multiple. Sri Lanka s strongest elements have to do with moral and ethical standards which prevail in government factories. No child labour or sweat shops in Sri Lanka, the minister added, and the country has adhered to the standards with regard to the environment.'

I think the educated PRof should have used the word SO-CALLED in front of the word abuse giving a different meaning.
