Entire jaffna had electricty in 1950s.

Tee boy

So called Tamil national hero Arumuga Navalar resigned from a leading Jaffna school where he was a teacher, protesting the admission of low cast Tamils to it in early 20th Century.

Jaffna Tamil elite never knew and never bothered that Jaffna poor were deprived of facilities like Electricity. They used poor Tamils as coolies those days. They use them as cannon fodder nowadays.
