Tamils have lost good leaders who could have led the Tamils

But tye communal riots of 1956, 1958, 1961, 1977 and 1982 AND the B-C Pact and S-C Pact humiliated and discredited those 'good' democratic leaders by the racist political leaders of the South. The agreements signed by those leaders with the Sinhala Buddhist leaders were unilaterally abrogated by the racists. The Sinhala Buddhist monks who destroy the Hindu temples now aroused riots to sabotage all the peace moves and chase Tamils to N & E by boats.
