Sri Lanka was first invaded by barbarians, semi-human , semi-animal, from Bengal.. If we believe the Mahawamsa, a hord of savage with a leader called Vijaya came to the Island in boat. It is too said in the Mahawamsa, that they were already two different populations (Yakkas and Nagas) when these pirates came. So clearly, from the sole Sinhala Buddhist mystical and mythological reference, Vijaya and his band were INVADERS. |
