Aug 28, Colombo: SriLankan Airlines recently marked a significant milestone in the country's aviation history when Captain Anusha Siriratne was appointed as the National Carrier's first Lady Captain.

Congratulating Ms. Siriratne , the airline s CEO, Manoj Gunawardena said that it is a significant event for the National Carrier.

Sri Lanka has been in the forefront of women s empowerment and it is certainly high time that a Sri Lankan woman took command of an airliner.

SriLankan has several female managers in senior positions in most of its nine Divisions. It has also employed women in areas that have traditionally been dominated by men such as aircraft engineering.

World changed by leaders , just 1 person.
From Gandhi to Kennedy to Churchill to Rajapakse its the leaders that matter.

For demanding the rights and democratic policy, Nelson Mandela is the good example than Gandhi as he made many mistakes before and after got independence.

But Nelson Mandela was ungrateful to his wife Vinnie Mandela and even divorced her. She fought so hard for his rights.

But look at South Africa Today its a tragedy.

I dont mean DeClark was a saint or their white only policies.
