If you read some of the stuff he has written about unity and harmony among the people of Sri Lanka, you would change your mind.

I don't think the issue is that. The issue is Singhalese and rest of the world does not want any homeland ruled by a terrorist outfit. Most of us do not have an issue with a tamil dominated government setup for the tamils of Sri Lanka. And most of us do agree, Tamils were discriminated against by the singhalese dominated government of SL.
This is a pep talk and Gonnampa is lying. The Sinhalese has more than 3o years after independence to let the Tamils govern themselves. The Tamils took up the arms only after 30 years of non violent protest against the Sinhala Buddhist chauvinism. LTTE is the Tamil people's answer to Sinhala Buddhist atrocities against Tamils. As long as the Sinhala racism thrive in the South, the Tamils will support the LTTE.

It was the Sinhala- Buddhists who had been discriminated by the turn of 1948. then politicians just corrected that. that is what Tamils did not like.
Read about Malaysia. they had exactly the same story. Malaysia also was governed by British. Malaysia went a step ahead and created Singapore.
SJV chelvanayagam's family came to Sri Lanka from Malaysia because they knew in comparison to Malaysia Little SJVC could have better life in Sri Lanka. As they thought SJVC grew up to be a TAMIL - RACIST.
By the time he was growing up, Tamil racism was growing in Sri Lanka since 1910 or so.
