since you mentioned about TN , i just had a quick visit and those photos were very OLD pictures...It came on soon after the first sighting of Takaran planes in Katunayake..
There was an e-mail that floated during that time showing the guys without the covering of their eyes and VP son Charles is also there..
There is no need to put any pictures..the truth remains the same..There was an attack and it was a set back for the SL navy..that is all
BTW thambi..great win by Indians..They played well and they were the better team.. |

| The SLN Eastern HQ can be decomissioned by LTTE any time now... VP has shown us that he can do it... If all TAF squadron is used at once, VP can take not only SLN Eastern HQ, but also SLA Jaffna HQ! |

Tamileelam Air Force bombers had hit an Engineering Unit of the complex and a military storage, the Tigers spokesman claimed. Meanwhile sources said continuous explosions were heard from inside the High Security Zone for five hours after the air raid. Military sources in Colombo confirmed that at least 6 of their personnel were killed. Informed military sources said more than 30 troopers were wounded the attack inside the HSZ.

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troopers in camps across Jaffna Peninsula emptied bullets in the air in a barrage of gunfire after Tamileelam Air Force (TAF) attacked SLA's main base complex in the Jaffna peninsula in the early hours of Tuesday morning, residents in the peninsula said. A woman was wounded in Eezhaalai, 5 km southwest of Palaali when Sri Lanka Army soldiers opened fire from their positions as the Tiger aircrafts, that completed their mission inside the High Security Zone of the Palaali garrison, flew at low altitude on their way back to Vanni.

No matter how many times you keep uttering 'No PEELAM...', you cannot stop the Tamils establishing an independent sovereign nation... the Kosovo and what happend in Georgia recently are examples of how independent states are born. The Tamil Eelam 'baby' is already born...it will grow and become independent, no matter how hard the Sinhala state tries to suppress! |

Like Berty said, TAF attacked trinco navy base and it was a setback to SLN. But, I would add further that there was no military setback. It was mainly psychological. LTTE was successful on satisfying diaspora so that they can request more money. It also improves sagging morale.
In the meantime, LTTE is losing more bunkers, trenches and areas of control. Only thing growing is the cemetary. But, SLA is yet to enter high risk close quarters warfare. LTTE is with the civilians and SLA side has no civilians. LTTE can launch motar and arti attacks without any fear whereas SLA has to be very careful not to hit civilians. So, LTTE will have upper hand. SLA will be stupid to attack killinochchi without taking the coastal areas first. Lets see how things play out.
