LTTE presence in the East on the increase TMVP

The Tiger intelligence operations in the east have shown a marked increase in recent weeks, TMVP spokesperson Azath Moulana told The Morning Leader yesterday.

The heightened intelligence work comes one year after government forces gained control of the entire eastern province.

He said the intelligence activities are mostly in Kancikudichcharu and the surrounding areas.

He however said that it was not a serious threat at the moment and added that the security forces have already taken steps to destroy the network immediately.

`This is not a serious issue or a threat to us. But, the security forces have taken immediate measures to put an end to this,` Moulana said.

There have been isolated incidents in the east targeting security forces and the TMVP cadres since the liberation of the east.

Though the government has claimed that the LTTE was totally wiped out from the east, the TMVP continued to state that there were Tiger cadres working in small pockets in the east.

The TMVP insisted that it would carry arms until the Tigers were totally wiped out, including in the north.

Moulana said the isolated attacks on the security forces and the TMVP were carried out with the assistance of the intelligence cadres of the LTTE in the east.

`The LTTE made sure that some of its cadres stayed behind. They are mingling with the people,` he said.

Good luck to the brave souls doing the hard work in enemy territory, they are the cutting edge of the spear, laying the ground work for future attacks against the thieves and their pet dogs.

We all know this long time back and no need to be said by TMVP gang.....sin aney

When GOSL is creaping 10% into wanni VP is retaking 40% of east under his control....this was happened during jayasikuru several years back and the jayasikuru history of events are repeating again now....only some GOSL and their supprters fail to undestand these facts..any way we have to wait some more time for them to clearly understand the reality in east and wanni

Facts mentioned in the police officer's diary were stated in High court...he was a recently killed police officer who served in east for several months after nagena hira navodaya jayagosha cerimoney at torington avenue with kiribath and lunumiris spending several millions of rupees of lankan tax payers money. Police officers dairy facts on current east day to day situation were carefully avoided by Colombo based sinhala media...if stated that will expose GOSL humbuck in a big way in east....api samata jayawewa

That shows even Karuna gang having GOSL protection worried on this issue....how comes this can happen in GOSL controled area in east...Jayawewa VP

Karuna gang members are now worried whether they will get white van transport by VP in east... at this rate of issues in amparai and thirukonamalai on daily basis

The civil war from 1992-95 left 100,000 people dead. The Bosnian-Serb leader Radovan Karadzic was finally captured in June and is facing a trial at The Hague on war crimes charges.
