I think you don't want to accept the mistakes made by the SL Navy,
pls tell me You have a radar that picked up plane/s approching and what is next? shoot it down..they failed..These planes (correct me if i am wrong) have to fly pretty low..if they can't take them out..
I admit that the SLN failed to bring down the planes, but i don't know the reasons behind it... i'm not sure if trinco has a air defence system like in Colombo, or whether it just has anti-aircraft guns... but i admit that the navy should have blasted these tin cans away and that they failed to do so. This may be because the planes stayed away from the guns, or maybe because of human error... but anyway, the LTTE were not targeting anything specific, but rather they just wanted to drop bombs somewhere to claim a victory... So they succeeded at dropping their bombs somewhere...
what LTTE is achieving? well i don't know..But I know one thing..this is a SET BACK..
if those planes have taken off from where You and I think surely surrounded by the SL army (13 miles story and the Map we all saw) someone would have seen it taking off..
I doubt that the planes are taking off from Kili. It's more likely that they are coming from the Mullativu area and flying over the sea... The SL is 13 miles away from Kili, while most of the Mullativu areas is still under LTTE control!
But anyway, how is this a set back? That's like sclaiming that if an LTTE cadre came out of hiding and shot at a solider, and then escaped, that this is a set back to the GoSL? |

There are reports from vanni that they have manufactured their own aircraft to be used for suicide missions in north targeting Camps,MBRL AND ARTI when they start their offensive.
One air craft to many target...? ...-:) |

Y they have choosen to go Trinco..instead of Palali, Vaveniya, Anuradhapura....? They know very well now, redars r located in those three places with the anti air craft missiles system. Tricno redar is not powerfull like other places. Also near to Mulativu....not take long time to escape....but they also know well if fly to any other area not easy to survive.....:-)

what a ridiculous argument.
TEAF have many targets in jaffna and vanni where SLDF dont have Sophisticated air defence system. there is no need they should only target palaly head quarters. |

The Thakaran planes came bombed and left without being Shot down..isn't that a set back in your books or a victory..
comeone mate..Can i say when the SL army takes over towns and bunkers it is not a set back for LTTE?

How will they know there are no guns..Think carefully..insider information..bought over..Human error as you said is also a possibility so isn't all this points to a set back..

Trinco is important..but y choose only Trinco..? Y not SLDF front line or command center...? No matter either air defence system or not. As long as loosing ground will face serrious problem to take or and land...:-) |
