It is reported that Minister Dilan Perera has resigned from his ministerial post on a directive received from the Presidential Secretariat.
During the provincial council election campaign Mr. Dilan Perera was engaged in campaign activities of the government party at Welikande area in Pollonnaruwa. At meetings held he had introduced Minister Maithripala Sirisena as 'the future prime minister.'
The President who has been furious at this had, through Presidential secretariat, informed Mr. Perera to resign. Reliable sources say Mr. Perera has already submitted his letter of resignation.
Coconut Development Minister Salinda Disssanayake too has been asked to resign from his post say these sources. .
