A senior military officer, who wished to remain anonymous due to a witch hunt against officers who speak with 'traitorous' journalists, felt that the military was taking the desertion issue too softly. 'When we are supposed to be in a successful military campaign, 5.5% is a crazy rate. Don't forget, you're saying 5.5% out of the whole strength of the army, but that is including all from engineers to admin officers. If you look at what number of combat troops are deserting, that's a huge and scary number.'
It is impossible to independently establish the ground situation faced by soldiers on the Wanni battlefront, since the military does not allow access for journalists to visit the front lines. Yet the threat of insurgency faced by the military, especially in the light of outright retreats by the LTTE, has been significantly downplayed.

So here are the news that we are reading in all over the srilankan sinhalese and English news papers saying that the gouvernment would take action on army deserters nearly from 12 to 20 thousands deserters and the new recrutment is on the way for another 8 to 10 thousand for the arm forces!!
At the same time sri lankan forces are very close to LTTE head quarters .It is only 7kms.!
What is these all F.....G news confusing everybody to read all these lies?
Why can't the gouvernment tell the truth?
Is it true that the Sri Lankan forces are close to Killinochchi? or is it just to cheat us majaority of people who may wish to see the end at last?
Gouvernment has spent 1.5 billions dollars just for this year to continue this war and where is the result?
Recruting another 10 thousands new men for the arm forces,recruting another 2500 commandos and looking for still 20 thousands army deserters are all cheating business well adopted by Mr.mahinda and his army generals.
So at last the war can not be won without any peace talk with Tamils.
