But the thing about right speech is about reconciliation. I would like to see one day that we can all look in each others eyes and understand we mean no harm to each other

Tamil population in Colombo increased since 1983.

Most tamils are SO self-centered and do not admit that SLA do far beyond what they should do to protect civilians. In a war situation, any other warring party would think about first themselves and next the civilians of the other party. SLA don't do that.

That is why people need to open eyes and see what they are doing.

more parties and more divisions..

If you agree with that then that is exactly why I'm trying to say that what we need here is to reconcile all our diferences, not just the eelamists and us but also between the different parties. Only if our ministers did the same, we could follow by example. All of this applies to right speech. Not just when it comes to eelamists vs. sinhalese. From where do we start cementing the bonds that already unite us not just amongst Sinhalese, amongst the different political parties, not just amongst the Tamils, amongst the people all the people who live in this land. If we manage to do that, we could get so much more done.

The King takes it all! Yes, very very true!
I'm really sad to that we still have not learnt any lessons
from this war or most of all some reasons for this war.
We Sri Lankans have a way of saying things without knowing
that it's contents could hurt someone. Not only when it
comes to minorities but also in day to day life.We should
educate ourselves in langauge before educating our children.I am not insulting you or anyone but saying that we got to start to respect one other. There are some rotten
apples in every basket.
I have found that there are some Tamils here in LNP that
are against the ways and thinking of the LTTE but are
branded as terrorist supporters. This is very very sad!
Please, let's at least try to understand the other.I too
have made this mistake and regret it.

Grow up people. If you don't have the courage to talk straight how you are feeling as just User-IDs, you don't have the courage to talk when they come physically and take over things from you.

People like you did not have that courage to do any thing that is why we are where we are.

Mahawansaya is assuming I'm someone who follows, quote, 'Western new found theology'. He also says 'If Buddha was a White man they will follow Buddha too !'.

This is all very sad assumptions, we're on the same side yet he classes me different from him. We may have petty differences, but we're on the same side are we not?

Actually while hooters hoot it does bring up an interesting question, why is Tamilnet not reporting the news that is freely available in the Tamil language sites including sister site Puthinam, of the various battles, casualties to the SLA, the various interviews with Nadesan, Balakumar etc. warnings to jaffna residents on which areas to stay away from, message to eastern residents not to buy into false propaganda that the TMVP goons have some sort of agreement with the LTTE, that the TMVP will automatically be dealt with as the SLA is defeated, etc etc all in the Tamil media, lots if interesting things there but tnet is keeping mum.

I'm listening to all of what you have to say, I should listen to my people, so I am listening and trying to understand. What I don't understand is why you don't agree with the use of right speech? Do you fear that if you use right speech something will happen? If so please tell me what? I'm listening.
