They flee in numbers. They flee in search of peace hoping an end to an era of terror. They flee not to tell fairy tales but to reveal horror stories in Wanni.

The LTTE's ruse to make a human shield to evoke international sympathy in the wake of steady military offensives penetrating through Wanni jungles to destroy the LTTE's last bastion, is to 'explode' soon with the exodus of civilians from Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu and Vavuniya to government-controlled areas.

you cant keep innocent civilians for defence so long :)

Twelve thousand army deserters have failed to surrender to the SLA during the amnesty period.

where are these guys? some are involved in elections violence, some are involved in White vans, some are involved in drugs, some have left the country and have asked for asylum..

The same thing will happen when the War is won on the 23rd of Aug..(according to PM) unless the Gosl has a plan for these soldiers..

What is ridiculous is that the CID has focused its attention on why the Ports Authority signed a Rs. 1 million rent contract, and not on how the Navy Commander asserted total control over a tender process and lied about the credentials of one bidder in order to award the contract to one party for Rs 200 million.

no time to focus on corruptions at the moment we are on hunting :) let us finish and turn back to it :)

We know another ethnic group is living in that country. Yet why should we be scared to call it Sinhala - soil when it is the only country that we have.

Jack

I think you meant to say 'you terrorist monkeys have no place in our Sri Lankan soil

Actually I meant Sinhala Soil. Sri Lanka is our sinhala land, yes there are other minorities living there. Remember majority calls the shots.. (wanna dream about changing this, look at Obama in US)

AnuD

when it comes to protecting Sri Lanka, only sinhalese are sacrificing their lives. tamils, muslims etc are busy counting their profits and talk about humanrights.. thats not fair..

Let these nationalities too fight for Sri Lanka and then we could talk about a 'one Sri Lankan' nation

We know another ethnic group is living in that country. Yet why should we be scared to call it Sinhala - soil when it is the only country that we have.

Because:

'And how is one made pure in four ways by verbal action?

'There is the case where a certain person, abandoning false speech, abstains from false speech. When he has been called to a town meeting, a group meeting, a gathering of his relatives, his guild, or of the royalty, if he is asked as a witness, 'Come & tell, good man, what you know': If he doesn't know, he says, 'I don't know.' If he does know, he says, 'I know.' If he hasn't seen, he says, 'I haven't seen.' If he has seen, he says, 'I have seen.' Thus he doesn't consciously tell a lie for his own sake, for the sake of another, or for the sake of any reward. Abandoning false speech, he abstains from false speech. He speaks the truth, holds to the truth, is firm, reliable, no deceiver of the world.

'Abandoning divisive speech he abstains from divisive speech. What he has heard here he does not tell there to break those people apart from these people here. What he has heard there he does not tell here to break these people apart from those people there. Thus reconciling those who have broken apart or cementing those who are united, he loves concord, delights in concord, enjoys concord, speaks things that create concord.

'Abandoning abusive speech, he abstains from abusive speech. He speaks words that are soothing to the ear, that are affectionate, that go to the heart, that are polite, appealing & pleasing to people at large.

'Abandoning idle chatter, he abstains from idle chatter. He speaks in season, speaks what is factual, what is in accordance with the goal, the Dhamma, & the Vinaya. He speaks words worth treasuring, seasonable, reasonable, circumscribed, connected with the goal.

'This is how one is made pure in four ways by verbal action.'

Maybe that's why these other races living in our land feel the land doesn't belong to them. Choose your words wisely.

Speak only the speech
that neither torments self
nor does harm to others.
That speech is truly well spoken.

Speak only endearing speech,
speech that is welcomed.
Speech when it brings no evil
to others
is pleasant.

I politely disagree with what your saying as Sinhala only sacrificing their lives. There are Tamils and Muslims who are serving the forces too..All sri lankans are sacrificing in different ways.

even people not complaining about the Cost of living is one way of sacrificing to support the War

U know everything..UR wasting your talent in a forum..u should be on stage with the politicians ..lolz

I still don't get it..why did you choose a forum name as Impartial..lolz

Impartiality is a principle of justice holding that decisions should be based on objective criteria, rather than on the basis of bias, prejudice, or preferring the benefit to one person over another for improper reasons.
