Kilinochchi will fall this year: Gota

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa yesterday expressed confidence that the Army was on target to capture the Tiger stronghold of Kilinochchi within the next four months.
The Defence Secretary told The British Times Online publication that the mission could be fulfilled by the end of this year.
You can`t just push the Tigers into the jungles and wait. You have to search for them and completely eradicate them. Only then will peace come, he said.
The army meanwhile said it had captured the Kalekuda jetty situated about 2 km north of the Mannar-Kilinochchi district boundary during operations on Monday.
According to the military, following a massive attack launched at the location the LTTE had abandoned the jetty along with some belongings including several sea tiger boats. This place, used by the LTTE to facilitate its sea movements and engage in smuggling, gives an adequate view of the LTTE Nachchikudah Sea Tiger base, located about 2 km northwards, the army said.
Meanwhile the Defence Ministry said troops engaged in the Wanni operations pushed further northwards along the Mannar-Pooneryn (A-32) main road after opening a new front on the South-western border of the Kilinochchi district.
During the operations on Monday troops deployed in the Adampankulama area observed a cluster of LTTE boats and engaged them with artillery and mortar fire destroying one boat and killing at least a few LTTE cadres. A soldier was also killed in the confrontation.
Troops of the 57 division operating on an adjacent front on the Western border of the Mullaittivu district carried out their operations aimed at dominating the strategically vital Tunukkai and Mallavi areas, the Defence Ministry said.
Pitched battles continued in the Mullaitivu forest on Monday as troops marched further northwards towards Mullaitivu. Troops claimed that at least six LTTE cadres were killed, eight wounded and nine more either killed or injured during clashes North of Andankulama, West of Ulathuvely and Kokkuthuduvai areas, the Defence Ministry said adding that three soldiers were also killed and five injured.

We do not want boru 'kaiwaaru'. Just do it first and 'THEN' talk!
Gota says one thing then Sarath Fonny says many things many times both contradicting each other, no indpendent media is allowed anywhere in the NE, what we get is either the Govt news or the LTTE news which is all one sided. Neither speaks the truth as truth is the first casualty of war.

| Yes, it appears LTTE cannot keep their land for a long period. Most of countries including Norway and India are confidence that LTTE wiil be defeated and eradicate from Sri lanka. Even narayan, Defence advisor of India, has told LTTE was weak and will fall North to military hand soon. |

sinhalese are destroying tamil nation in the name of destroying ltte. the plan to destraoy tamil nation has started since sinhala only act was brought. Even if ltte was not there still tamil nation would be destroyed by colonisation and riots. |

Entire country is fallen already. Felling killinochchi is just a feather in Rajapakse brothers' caps.
Public as a whole have lost the splendour in our country's developments and achievements. There is more animosity building between our own brethren od our nation.
When Hindustan allowed a faction of her citizens to carve out of it's mainland IT HELPED AND ENHANCED THE LIVELIHOOD OF IT'S CITIZENS AND THE COUNTRY.
Hindustan did ward off a growing Cancer. SL can never cure it's cancer unless a particular organ is severed.
Let the Northern Tamils go on their own. The rest of the citizens should take the challenge PATRIOTICALLY to develop the nation to the standards of atleast Singapore .

President could iron out the differences meeting with Prabhakaran face to face or through intermediaries.
Mahinda Chinthanaya is a Party platform, IT CANNOT BE MISINTERPRETED AS THE PRESIDENT'S PLATFORM.
Mahinda is the President of the nation and it's people approx 30 million. Party platform cannot be given priority
when the entire nation is on fire, people losing lives.
A President who cannot understand this simple duty and a moral responsibility is incapable of running a fair govt. in any measure.
Secession is healthy for Sri Lanka. It is upto the GOONS to make the nation wealthy. I bet the lethargic bum ho's will ruin the nation.
It's no surprise.

| Army is there to fight n defend the country thats their utmost duty and we will not argue with that but the question is why gota and mahinda r trying to take the credit of the soldiers, mahinda, gota and basil they highly talk about the patriotism its very funny to c gota n basil suddenly remember the mother land and turned in to patriots soon after his brother became the president of sri lanka if he really cared (gota) he shouldn't have left the army in the first place |
