Gota confident of capturing Killinochchi by year s end

Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa insists that the army is on target to capture the Kilinochchi town, the Tigers' capital, in the next four months.

It's possible by the end of this year, he told The Times newspaper in England.

You can't just push them into the jungles and wait. You have to search for them and completely eradicate them. Only then can peace come.

The army says it has shrunk the Tigers' territory from 6,500 to 5,000sqkm and reduced their forces from 13,000 to 5,000 cadres . Last month it captured one of the Tigers' main naval bases. Last week it entered Kilinochchi district.

another deadline :)))

'Chemical weapon attack' is not only a desperate propaganda attempt but also a language US administration understands to justify aerial bombing of the area. SL govt knows about the civilian casualties but try to justify to the international community which is largely US.

There have other attempts to boost the morale of the deserting soldiers. SLDF was of 200,000 strong at the start of military gingissm of this govt. Now the govt spokesman is desperate to call back 12,000 deserters by threatening arrests if they do not join the army to kill Tamils in the North. People of average intelligence can make an easy calculation to estimate the number of soldiers who are made defunct or out of action.

More news are on the way.

TAMILS AGAINST GENOCIDE:
Non-profit Group forms to seek Justice and Criminal Indictments against Government of Sri Lanka officials for Genocide

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, DC - August 04, 2008

Tamils Against Genocide, a non-profit organization, has an exclusive mission: to obtain United States or international indictments against three United States citizens or green card holders currently serving in the Government of Sri Lanka for complicity in genocide, crimes against humanity, or war crimes, including torture and extrajudicial killings, against Sri Lanka s civilian Tamil population.

The three United States citizens or green card holders accused of genocide are:

-United States citizen GOTABHAYA RAJAPAKSA, Sri Lanka s Defense Secretary, brother of Sri Lanka s President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and who allegedly has ties to San Dimas, California.

-United States green card holder BASIL RAJAPAKSA, senior Presidential Adviser, Member of Sri Lanka s Parliament, brother of Sri Lanka s President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and who allegedly has a primary residence in Fontana, California.

-United States green card holder, SARATH FONSEKA, Lt. General in Sri Lanka s Armed Forces, and believed to own property through family in Oklahoma.

Tamils Against Genocide will demonstrate to the United States authorities that the legally admissible evidence of genocide or companion crimes against the three United States citizens or green card holders equals or exceeds the genocidal atrocities laid at the feet of Serbia s Slobodan Milosevic, Bosnian Serb Radovan Karadzic, Bosnian Serb Ratko Mladic, and Sudan s Omar Bashir.

The United States criminal code punishes genocide, torture, or war crimes perpetrated by United States nationals and non-nationals. Extrajudicial killings may also be sanctioned in United States courts under the Torture Victims Protection Act.

Bruce Fein, former associate deputy attorney general under President Ronald Reagan, will lead the effort to obtain genocide indictments of GOTABHAYA RAJAPAKSA, BASIL RAJAPAKSA, and GENERAL FONSEKA. Mr. Fein s may be contacted at 703-963-4968 .

Heh heh...
funny thing is that all civilian casualties happen when SLDF is having the upperhand and controlling the situ while pigers are taking a beating...
all these days SLAF was only hitting cows, goats and trees... when LPTE is getting whackered... all of sudden we're bombing civilians :) :) :)
well aimed propaganda for super intelligent peelmists so that LPTE funding won't go dry... :) :) :)
