According to Thivya
1. 246 BC - Dipa Vamsa refers to Sihala for the first time.
2. The term Sihala is seen for the first time (second first time) in Dipa Vamsa in 4-5 AD
3. Sinhala Grammar Sidathsangarawa was based on the Tamil Grammar Virasolium in the 11th A.D.
4. There was no Sinhala language in Lanka or in any part of the world before 8th A.D
5. Therefore it is thuggery to claim that there were Sinhala people in Lanka prior to the 8th century A.D.
- My word. That's quite a lucid chronology. It's all very startlingly clear to me now. How about you all?

There were no Sinhalese in Lanka or in any part of the world until the Dipa Vamsa for the first time, referred to the descendants of Tamil (Hindus) who embraced Buddhism in 246 B.C. as Sihala on account of the Lion (no relevance).
As even as late as the 6th century A.D., there was no Sinhala language, the Great Chronicles were written in the Pali language.

According to Dr. C.E. Godakmubara, the Sinhala Grammar Sidathsangarawa was based on the Tamil Grammar Virasolium in the 11th A.D. The term 'Sihala (Lion in Pali) is seen for the first time in Sri Lankan sources in the Dipa Vamsa (4-5 A.D.)

It is stupid to deny that fact. When there was no Sinhala language in Lanka or in any part of the world before 8th A.D., it is thuggery to claim that there were Sinhala people in Lanka prior to the 8th century A.D.

The development of the Sinhala language is divided into four periods:
Sinhala Prakrit (until 3rd century CE)
Proto-Sinhala (3rd - 7th century CE)
Medieval Sinhala (7th - 12th century CE)
Modern Sinhala (12th century - present)

Sihala means LION in Pali, it doesn't refer the language.

The Sinhalese are good at twisting the facts. 'There were no Sinhalese in Lanka or in any part of the world until the Dipa Vamsa for the first time, referred to the descendants of Tamil (Hindus) who embraced Buddhism in 246 B.C. as Sihala on account of the Lion (no relevance)'.

I know it helps a lot to sla. i think it played a major role in thwarting ltte attempt to capture jaffna before CFA.It helped a lot in east and mannar front. but still ltte is able to capture bodies of SLA dead soldiers.

she will..mental satisfaction.

SL history is well documented and cros referenced and proven with sound proof from archaeology. Jakson anthony did a yeoman service of producing the epic 'maha Sinhale wansa kathaawa' and brought together eminent historians and electronically documented the history of SL. That was a brainstorming achievemnt where academics argued and showed to the world of the historical setting of SL and its evolution.

Thivya, can crap all what she wants,...wouldnt change a thing.

But nobodhy should obstruct thivya's right to crap.

lolz
