His father was Kavanteessam.
Mother was Viharmaharaani.
his name was Kamini, not gamini.
but later Mahavansam writers changed it all to Viharamahadevi, Kavantissa and Gamini.
that is how it happens

I never said that he was a Tamil, but I have been asking the question that who gave the Sinhala tag to Duttu Gemunu and other ancient rulers of Sri Lanka.
Duttu Gemunu's father's name Kaaka Vanna Theesan. That is purely a Tamil name and Mahavamsa says that he was from the Naga tribe. Therefore we can safely assume the Nagas were speaking Tamil.
The point is, we don t have enough evidence to prove that the true identity of the indigenous people of Sri Lanka. They might have been the ancestors of the Sri Lankan Tamils and the Sinhalese.

Actually, you are all wrong. Dutugemunu was a mixed race bada&% from South Central LA - Dad was African American(dude was as dark as a crow), Mom was an illegal alien who possibly jumped ship in the vicinity. DG fought with his parents, became a truant, joined a gang of 10 huge thugs, and got involved in some nasty turf battles. Killed a dude, found religion, and did a lot of good work later on in life. It all makes sense.
