Guys
Anyone knows how hookers came to be known as hookers?
Its coming from the American Civil War.
One General named Hooker (I think from the Southern Army) had a large number of ladies following his troops.
Hooker is a word of military origin!

An Air Force MI-17 helicopter made an emergency landing at a Navy camp in Mannar this afternoon after experiencing technical failure.

There is hardly any family in the North that hasn't lost at least one in the war. There are rich and poor, high and low castes and men and women fight for their liberation from the clutches of Sinhala elitist rulers.My elder brother was also killed.

And you guys think you can keep this going for another 100 yrs. What is the logic, revenge....is that what you are looking for...let everyone suffer as VP do at the moment and was doing for so many years.

Whom do you blame for that?
Do you think VP has to bare any guilt for your loss and other thousands of tamil youth sacrificed in fighting this ill-formed and ill-conceived circus which was created mainly to hoodwink distressed tamils into relinquishing their wealth in the name of a tamil state within Sri Lanka ??

Gons, there are so many Sri Lankans who just wants to live there life and not to worry about race, religion, caste, political parties and that and this......
This is a small country and you do not need to know rocket science to develop this place. We only have a one problem, a war maintained by power greedy few and I sincerely hope that the current administration is not in the same mind set.
It is high time to finish this by any means. |

It was revenge at the beginning against the riots of 1956, 1958, 1965, 1977 and 1982. You should not take our patience for granted and beat us every time some thing went wrong with your leaders.
First we just wanted to do business in our language which was denied in the Sinhala Only Act.
We want to lead our lives as everybody else. We grant and acdcept the majority Sinhalese have some privileges and are entitled to rule the nation but not to control us the minorities.
As in other civilised countries such as Switzerland or Canada the minorities also have rights to rule themselves without being a hindrance or stumbling bloc to the majority.
If any of the 4 agreements signed so far BC-Pact, SC-Pact, P-TOMS or CFA was implemented we would have avoided the war but the nationalists in the South always wanted their way which is unreasonable and discriminatory, so we have to get with armed struggle that was denied by peaceful means. |

My sincere condolences to you.
He was killed in 1982 before LTTE's armed attack. It was in the riots. The riots was started not because Tamils did anything but to sabotage the implementation of agreements. |

Time has passed and things are so different in the world compared to '83. It is not the same world and the world is governed on different ways and means.
I do not think at any point VP wanted to go for a peaceful solution and he will not. He know that will be the end of story for him as one of his own will put him down at that point. I do not intend to say VP is the only one there, could be so many and will be willing to lead the military front.
Obviously we need a political solution that addresses issues faced by all in this country, a one which decentralize power to the maximum possible level under one country. People at ground level should get the power to make decisions and develop their areas.
We need to throw few power greedy ones to the sea before we start doing anything, bcs these idiots are destroying the paradise. |

Politics are dirty and no matter who is in power they will steal and plunder..
It is high time to finish this by any means.
We will see soon. SLDF's have got seriously involved now. I think they want to fight this on their own will now. That is a good thing at this point.
I think MR created this 'monkey see monkey do' zoo of a parliament just so that he could concentrate on the KEY issues while the monkeys plunder and keep his government in power.
I am no fan of MR. But he is the only guy who had the balls to take the fight to VP and stay in power in the democracy of SL.
He will have to salvage the administration and clean up house immediately after the entire country is in GOSL control. Or he will face civil uprising or even a military coup.
Then comeup with a decentrlized administration for the country.. keeping it intact.
That will be fun to watch..
