Poor childs.
That is not true. You cannot categorize all 18 year olds into one. So it was ok for the LTTE to forcefully conscript kids who are 12-14years? And it was a bad thing for a 18 year old to join the army at his will for the SLDF? What makes you think the LTTE falls under the terrorist category in the whole world? This is one point. Even Tamilnadu arrested LTTE supporters. And here you are talking for them. Well i guess it is understandable you fleeing the northeast in Sri Lanka and taking refuge over there in India. But to be honest peoples look towards the LTTE is going down even among tamils. Best example is Tamilnadu they arrested LTTE supporters. |

This soldier's birthday falls on the 24th of January 1990..
It is a well know fact that the SLA's infantry/jungle warfare training course lasts 6 months..
The soldier was killed on the 3rd of August 2008.. 7 months after his 18th Birthday..
Assuming he's been on the front lines for at least 2 weeks - soldiers in the infantry are posted on frontline duty on a rotational scheme, with each stint lasting a couple of months - he joined well passed his 18th birthday!!.. all very legal!!..
On the other hand!!.. the LTTE now only imparts ''6 WEEKS'' of basic training before their new recruits are thrust out into the frontlines!!.. that's just beastly if you ask me.. :O)) |

India - 16 (military service is voluntary soldiers are not deployed in combat zones before age 18.)

I dont know why all the singlecelled guys are Shouting up & down .
I am just pointing out that the quality of SLA men who fight against tigers is detoriating & there are lotta cannon fodders who are being sent to gallows knowling by arm chair men in colombo.
Watever it is, you guys dont have moral rights anymore to talk abt child soldiers of tigers .
May i know what is the retirement age for combat in Sorry lanka ?
We may even get to see a Pic of Grandpa being taken out by tigers & you guys will even justify that the retirement age is 60 ! |
