gosl actually has to get their act together and ensure media freedom and safety for journalists...
at the same time there has to be away to ensure that journalists also do follow some form of ethics...
they shouldn't be given the power to write whatever crap they feel like writing without having some form of accountability for their actions
so what is the internationally accepted standard or norms to be followed by Journalist??
any action against journalist should be taken according to the (internationally accepted) law of the land if journalist are violating the law.
If govt wants no military related information to be published they should impose censorship. we know govt is reluctant to bring censorship as it will damage its reputation (?) among IC. That is why govt uses 'white van ride' tactics. govt did not realise this is also equally bad for its reputation(?). |
