After fighting for nearly 30 years, LTTE Terrorists have not achieved anything significant for the Sri Lankan Tamils. However the LTTE Terrorists managed to kill thousands of civilians (Tamil, Sinhala and Muslim), political leaders, professionals, dissidents and most importantly international leaders such as Rajeev Ghandhi. More than 2/3rd of Tamils live in Sri Lanka prefer to live in the GOSL controlled areas among the Sinhalese. It is said that LTTE has killed much more Tamils than all the other vicious forces combined.

Therefore one has to think of LTTE acronym seriously and adapt that accordingly. I propose that the L.T.T.E stands for Leading Tamils Towards Extinction !

What do you think?

30 yrs is not a long period for tamil nation which fights with sinhala nation 10-15 time greater in population.

so it is practically not possible to liberate the whole north and east and hold them by ltte.

so any final solution should be through negotiation. as long as ltte maintain some part of north and carry out guerilla warfare in other areas sinhala polity will be compelled to go for peace talks with ltte to find a lasting solution and restoration of peace to the island.

Finally Thalaivar - you talk some sense. 30 years of fighting has reduced the tamil population to less than 4%. What will another 30 years do?

When velu dies, the LTTE will be monkeys living in the jungle. Nothing more.

its too little too late, no more Surprise SLA is taking necessary
steps for counter attacks, LTTE will not have upper hand by a surprise attack + you will teach those taliban guys how to use Chemicals against American forces, Happy stay in SA/Eurpe/Asia/Australia terrorist list

already they were banned in many countries. so no major impact. and at the same time north will be fully under their control.

Saudis behead four foreigners, crucify the bodies and put them on display to deter crime
Last updated at 17:54 20 February 2007

Saudi Arabia has put the bodies of four SRI LANKANS beheaded in Riyadh on display in public in an effort to deter a rising crime wave by foreigners.

International rights groups have often accused the conservative kingdom, a key US ally, of applying draconian and arbitrary justice, beheading murderers, rapists and drug traffickers in public by the sword.

The desert kingdom, which is home to Islam's holiest shrines, says it applies strict Islamic law.

The Sri Lankan gang were executed on Monday at a public square in a busy market district of the city of four million.

Saudi media said that although no one was killed in the series of robberies they were convicted of, the four men were given the death sentence due to the organised nature of the violent hold-ups, raising fears of foreign mafias.

Thyvya:

Sorry, I had to go away for a while...

Can you believe this, even after 30 years they couldn't figure out Prabhakaran's mind. He is a military genius indeed.

Well, we all know Chingala Muniya's mindset...

Only VP had taught them good lessons... but, still their memory is short. But, this time, backed by WMDs, TAFs, and all he will teach them the biggest lessson since they started keeping records in Mahawansam!

4% is not a reliable estimate. but even with 4% ltte can manage to survive holding some area in north and that will be a headache for sinhala polity. so they will be compelled to come for talks with ltte. SL ECONOMY WILL COLLAPSE if war is prolonged further and sinhala people is not that patience to wait any further.once the victories of govt are reversed by ltte, sinhala people's support to war would be withdrawn and they will support for peace talks to end the conflict. and dont forget that 2002 ceasefire agreement gave breathing space for SL economy to grow. soon sl economy will be in trouble again.
