Definitely capture Kilinochchi. From there, they will surround Mullaithivu and Pooneryn. As always, the Tigers will use deception and wait for an opportune moment to cause maximum damage. But they must do this before the Army reaches Kilinochchi. Any time after that would be too late for the guerrillas.
An opportunity may arise, if one is given. Otherwise, tigers would have to create their own (opportunity). This might very well happen in the East if the STF and the police does not step up to the task. Tigers have started avoiding direct confrontations and are trying to preserve their remaining cadres, especially those with experience.
Meanwhile troops in the Vanni front have begun to thin out, having advanced 40-50 kilometers in places. Elite units have been deployed early. Some have died, others have received injuries. But the morale is high. The addition of the 62 Division, in a semi-offensive role, is crucial if this advance is to continue further.
The other potential debacle is the political deadline issue by the government for the military operations. The focus is again shifting from the battlefield to the North Central Provincial Council Elections. This is an all too familiar road, one that has brought more bad than good in the past.

How did Boggles bust Rs.6 billion in six months ?
July 23 (DM) The main opposition UNP yesterday urged the government to disclose how the Foreign Ministry had spent its entire budgetary allocation of Rs.6 billion within the first six months of the year. UNP front liner John Amaratunga made the demand when speaking during the debate on the Foreign Ministry supplementary estimate of Rs.3 billion. He asked for a breakdown of how such a massive amount of money could be spent in six months and said the Ministry appeared to lack accountability. more..visit infolanka.

Will America get its Indian Vice-President ? NO
Bobby Jindahl is little too immature to become VP,... He is a converted Hindu, for political mileage,... He is indeed a brilliant nice guy, but it's too soon for him to be such a big figure,...
It will definitely be helpful for McCain to gather Indian votes,... but Americans are still reluctant to vote for such a figure. Overall McCain will have a disadvantage if he chooses Bobby Jindahl... |

I am guessing that the LTTE will try to attack during the SAARC summit to gain maximum publicity. They have been getting ready for this for over six months now.
Anyway that is my theory |

UNP and all other political parties must give their support to GOSL inspite of small things happening around. what is more important right now is to focus on the war and all other factors are substitutes.
Till tigers are cleaned from SL soil all should get the hands together. |
