Tigers the worst enemies of Tamils, not the Sinhalese Dr. Noel Nadesan, Editor, UTHAYAM, Australia

Ponku Thamil is a belated attempt to convince the Western countries that the Sri Lankan forces are knocking at the gates of Vanni and that the Tigers should be saved. But these countries have made up their minds and banned them. Ponku Thamil is the last hurrah of the Tamils trapped in the diaspora. These demonstrations are not going to help the dying dinosaurs. In fact the chances are that Tiger violations of human rights, particularly that of the oppressed Tamils in the Vanni, will lead to further restrictions being placed on the Tiger agents abroad.

by Our Correspondent from Melbourne

(23 July , Melbourne , Sri Lanka Guardian) Attacking the Ponku Thamil demonstrations of the Tamils in the diaspora, Dr. Noel Nadesan, Editor of the leading community Tamil newspaper in Australia, UTHAYAM, has compared the LTTE to extinct dinosaurs in his latest contribution to the Thenee -- a leading anti-Tiger Tamil websites gaining wide popularity in the Tamil diaspora. Leading anti-Tiger activists and writers contribute to Thenee. It is a website developed and produced by anti-Tiger activists in Stuttgart, Germany.

He wrote: Like the way the dinosaurs devoured everything within sight the Tigers have devoured the Tamils. The Tigers are on their way out like the dinosaurs with hardly any Tamils left to be devoured.

He states that the Ponku Thamil is a belated attempt to convince the Western countries that the Sri Lankan forces are knocking at the gates of Vanni and that the Tigers should be saved. But these countries have made up their minds and banned them. Ponku Thamil is the last hurrah of the Tamils trapped in the diaspora. These demonstrations are not going to help the dying dinosaurs. In fact the chances are that Tiger violations of human rights, particularly that of the oppressed Tamils in the Vanni, will lead to further restrictions being placed on the Tiger agents abroad, said Dr. Nadesan.

He also said that for the last 25 years the Tigers have fought the Sinhalese projecting them as the enemies of the Sri Lankan Tamils. But an objective analysis will reveal that it is the Tamil Tigers who have been the worst enemies of the Tamil people.

He told the Sri Lanka Guardian that the Tigers have not won any significant gain that would help to establish its promised goal of Eelam. In fact, it had lost all what was gained by the sacrifice of the lives of the misled Tamil youth. The Tigers are now fighting for the survival of the failed leadership in the Vanni and not for the Tamils who are facing increasing harassment and oppression by the Tiger leadership. The Tigers are going all out to suppress dissent both in the Vanni and in the diaspora. Neither will succeed. The reports coming out from Vanni confirm that the Tamil people are frustrated and disillusioned and they are now daring to inform the Sri Lankan government. This is an ominous sign for the Tigers because they cannot survive for long if the people turn against them in large numbers.

Popular Tamil novelists and writers like Mrs. Rajeswari Balasumbramaniam of London are regular contributors to the Thenee. Dr. Nadesan, a veterinarian, is also a novelist portraying the problems of the Tamils. He has faced regular harassment from Tiger agents who even burnt his paper once in Sydney.

UNP s Colombo District MP Ravi Karunanayake pointed out that the Government is spending Rs. 2,880 million at a time inflation is at the 28.1% mark and so, after the summit, inflation will definitely go up with a price hike on all goods, including essential foods.

Rs. 2,880 million is only $28 million. If the so-called 'proud sovereign Sinhala nation' is going to have big inflation because of a $28 million, that tells a lot about the Sinhala state's economy!

What is causing the inflation is not the SAARC, modaya! It is the war with the State of Tamil Eelam!

I am not asking whether you are convinced or not.
