Damed,
Match will not be shift to Dambulla as that ground was up lifted by Sumathipala
What do you mean?
England played one-dayers there, so no reason why a Test should not be.

Mrs Hajara,
How is the appetite in the ME for cricket nowadays? It was all India, Pakistan. Now that a lot of Indians are leaving and returning home, would you still get a fullhouse? |

Mahadev,
We can open new stadium in Batticaloa
Most definitely somewhere in that region and promote the game in the East. Such a shame, we could have had some good players coming from the North and East, now that the game has really opened up and taboos broken. |

SK63,
Your arguement on standardisation however is factually incorrect.
Standardisation would have been necessary to be fair to those in under privileged areas. I also know many intelligent Sinhalese students could enter uni to do arts because of inadequate facilities to learn Sc subjects in rural areas.
This must be looked in the backdrop of other measures undertaken by the successive leaders since 1949. The main adverse measures were the disenfranchisement of upcountry workers and govt assisted colonisation schemes to alter the ethnic ratio of the North and East Provinces.
The adverse effects are racial disharmony and alienation. In a country like US a son of Kenyan born black is put forward as a presidential candidate whereas in Sri Lanka an upcountry worker cannot even vote if his grandfather (not the father) was not born here. This is a gross discrimination to those who were part of nation building. Sinhalese need not fear about minorities ever dominate the parliamentary representation. These measures are intended for oppression of minorities. That is what we are protesting and fighting against. |

LTTE is the terror outfit that pioneered the suicide bombing tactics to the world. The outfit has been using brainwashed youth, mostly women and teenagers raped by their own special carders to commit suicide as human bombs. LTTE select these youths from orphanages or recruit those who have undergone gender or cast discrimination promising them to redeem their dignity by dieing for the tribal cause |

It would be wonderful if we could also one day see Test cricket played in Jaffna and Trinco. Maybe even Killinocchi. |
