complex political issues should not be seen from the military perspective alone...
Good 'sound bite' .. However 'complex' political issues as well as complex 'military' issues need to be looked at with the 'aim' of finding a 'solution' .. if we are 'practical' about these things. Those 'actions' we should take (to achieve our 'solution'), should also be simple (where possible).
'Military' men try to keep things simple, and often emerge success-ful .. for that very reason.

Navy destroys one LTTE boat, damages 2 in a sea battle - Pulmoddai
An LTTE boat was destroyed and two more were heavily damaged when the Sri Lanka Navy's Fast Attack Craft (FACs) engaged a cluster of LTTE boats detected in the seas off Pulmoddai around 1.30 a.m today, 22 July.
According to the naval sources, five LTTE speedboats were heading towards Pulmoddai from Nayaru and the sea battle erupted when the LTTE boat cluster was detected by the naval FACs on patrolling during the early hours.
Naval craft or sailor received no injuries in this confrontation, naval sources added.

When I see how MR and Gotabhaya has stood up firmly and deatlt with the LTTE as men of unvawering resolve, I really feel proud to have cast my ballot for this administration.
I am wondering what you will be saying when they face muhamalai type/ jayasikkuru type debacles.
this is the last opportunity for mr and gota to come out from mess mr and gota are in.
