Looks like Eelam & TN can soon have a full Maritime business in Future.

The Central government is expected to inform the Supreme Court on Tuesday that it would go ahead with the contentious Sethusamudram Project.
Sources said that the Centre will file an affidavit in the apex court seeking permission to proceed with the project. The government is also likely to tell the court that conducting an ASI survey before resuming work was not necessary. The UPA government s turnaround on the project is being seen as a gift to its ally DMK, ahead of the crucial trust vote in Parliament today. The Southern party has been pushing for the project.

The Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project, once complete, will allow big ships from the West Coast of India to travel to the East Coast through the Palk Bay, instead of going around Sri Lanka.

This will translate into a saving of upto 424 nautical miles and upto to 30 hours in sailing time.

There will be more Indian Navy in the area and the SLN cannot kill Indian fishermen as it liked and blame the LTTE.
When IN comes SLN will be forced to step aside.

Tamils have realize to live with democratic moments in south and East. They have to respect other races and religions.

Majority controls the main steams of any nation..if not they are not a majority.

To make any move LTTE the military wing should be disband, and its happening.More the Diaspora feed LTTE more the Tamils suffer.

Peelamaya

out of 160 students selected to the Law College only 2 is from the minorities (Muslims and Tamils) as pointed out by MP Rauf Hakeem.

This clearly shows that you don't even have a clue on the admission process of the Law college of Srilanka

This kind or lies are good for people who doesnt know anything about the srilankan education system.

Please not that the admission criteria for the Srilanaka Law college doesn't fall under district quota system or any other selection method by the UGC.

Law college doesnt take students direct from the AL results

After completion of AL if any one wants to get admission to the Law college they can apply.

The Legal education council of Srilanka Conduct a Separate exam called THE LAW ENTRANCE in Srilanka. The same questions are given for all the three mediums and normally they select the top 225 students not 160 purly on merit basis.

IT doesn't matter if you are from Jaffna or Colombo Sinhala or Tamil you have to score marks to fall into this top 225 otherwise you are OUT

In 1990 Srilanka Law college admitted 500 Students ( Double batches ).

But after 1990 they always took more than 225 students.
In every batch thre are more than 25 students from ethnic minorities

I don't know the answers to todays problems but what I know is that what you wrote will not work in todays world. Every country that had this way of thinking was split by race, cast, religion or ethnicity.
Unless each citizen feels safe and equal as the other this problem is not going to go away.

Please explain to me, how did Mahinda get the law college admission without passing the O/L Math. :)))

This is a part of your normal Mud slinging campaign.
I am 100%sure that MR has passed his OL and then admitted to
Nalanda College from Thurstan to do his AL

By posting this kind of things you don't achieve anything here this shows your hatred and jealousy against Sinhala community

If you Feel that he doesn't have His maths in GCSE You can easily send a petition to the supreme court of SL

Please note when MR Entered the Law college he was not the president of SL.HE was just a commoner

Samadi, bro and Udawatta

We are thankful to your effort to show numbers. But, they explain the logic as to why Tamils, Muslims, and Hakeem are upset.

Take 55% and distribute among 25 districts
--- roughly 2% per district
Now, next 5% allocated to 16 districts
--- roughly (5/16)% or 0.3%

So, allocation for a district like Jaffna is only 2.3%
