Let's face it. The LTTE may be ready for a major operation. This ceasefire offer may be a little drama designed to get the maximum propaganda advantage, once the attack is in progress. The SL army has become a little predictable now, and the LTTE had enough time to direct their men and material at one or two isolated targets.
Prabakaran is just waiting for the most opportunistic time to attack. But this should not be a surprise to any sri lankan. It will be devastating for a couple of weeks. There could be hundreds of casualities. Every Sri Lankan should be ready for it. But the terrorists will mis-calculate this time. Because their strategies are also known to our military planners.
Things might accelerate and Sarath Fonseka might get his wish ahead of his own one year time frame. |

Begs for ceasefire, looses 6 boats(incl 3 muraj class), 22 black tigers killed in air strike,6 bodies recovered in Mannar & now Madhu statue returned. Pawam
All this and not a single shred of evidence just a lot of hot air.

I think it is more than that. When they are only 13km from Vanni this is a very small number. Maybe they have destroyed VP's bunker and killed him again............ha ha ha ha

'LTTE offers ceasefire' = LTTE is desperately looking for negotiations
Now, after sending 1000s of young Tamils to death, finally, LTTE is experiencing the flavor of bitter reality.
At least as Sri Lankans, now people must unite and move forward to talk peace. But, I wonder if GOSL can control SLA well, before advancing into Vanni.
BUT, this doesn't mean LTTE became just a weak movement. Still it may have some power to face SLA, but now it knows that power is decreasing day by day. |

Lets see how MR and the GoSL explains itself to the IC.
Simple,
All the bus bombings supposed to be carried out by, as admitted, the Elalan forces. This means unless LTTE admits that either it is the Elalan force or it can control the Elalan force, a ceasefire with LTTE would make no difference at the moment and it is better to retain the advantage and continue with the defeating of terrorism to speed up the devolution of power to the northern masses.
Is this good enough?

this is where you go wrong. it will be a big surprise for every one.
BUT for SL LNP WARRIORS this will not be surprise as we have already informed about the possible offensive by ltte.

Foreign visitors to the island fell 9.3 percent in May, hard hit by travel warnings, though intensive action by a restructured tourism promotional body and the industry may be helping ward off some of the negative fallout.

They never had any idea of finding a peaceful solution, not now not ever.
you missed the bus several times mate.
LTTE has been offered many opportunities to sort out the problems.
Stupid Tamil diaspora never supported for a peaceful solution. diaspora justified every killing of LTTE.they funded LTTE to destroy the whole nation.
If LTTE is for peace then why they prevented Tamil from voting Ranil for CFA. stupidity or duplicity???
