Defence Spokesman and Minister Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday said that Tamil Nadu State government has not made official intimation to the Sri Lanka government about their claim to the Kachchativu island.
'If at all they do they have to inform the foreign Ministry,' he said.
Answering questions, at the weekly defence briefing, on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi s public claim that the Kachchativu island is a part of India, he said that anybody can make claims and the Sri Lanka government could also do so.

We need time to consider LTTE ceasefire offer - Govt
The head of the government peace secretariat, Rajiva Wijesinghe, says the government needs time to carefully consider the LTTE call for a ceasefire during the SAARC summit and will wait till it is officially communicated.
'We need peace. We will wait and see if they will make the offer to us directly or through Norway (the peace facilitator), if they (LTTE) are serious about it,' AFP qouted Wijesinghe as saying.
'They (LTTE) has offered similar things in the past and militarily beefed up their capabilities. We need to be careful,' Wijesinghe said.

the GOSL stance is to reject the LTTE bogus offer of a ceasefire.
This offer is for the Saarc nations & not to GOSL.
if tigers are attacked then SLA will be thrashed ! |
