I disagree...I think he will do a better job than mahela
As I said before, with murali opting out bowling in the power plays though he is the best bowler leaving the rest to get hit all around, is it good captaincy material? |

let us look at the reasons with an open mind..
reasons are clear.. the main problem in Sri Lanka is the curruption and weak administartion, politisisation..
Again don't interprit this in a racial terms.. This is why our countries are forever 'developing countries'. If you know this is worst in India. |

I am sorry. I like that boy very much. Hence that comment. I apologise
I like him too, he is a Royalist, Washington born, son of a
US educated scientist, but he is not good enough to play cricket
for sri lanka. |

Exactly. India has the biggest tamil population, but never a tamil PM.
USA or Canada has a better chance of having a tamil president (or PM in Canada) than in india. In fact, even SL has a better chance than India in my opinion.
Do you know that Lousiana governer is an indian (born in US to indian parents).

Former Indian President (up to 2007), Abdul Kalam was a Tamil. Though he does not have same executive powers as Pres in SL
Also current President in Singapore is a Tamil

Parakum/Dewey
Take Mubarak for an example.
He is a Muslim, and I have not seen him scoring a fifty in any form of cricket let alone test, still he is captaining the board presidents 11, while lot of talented possible future captains are sitting in the bench. Ethnicity does not explain that.
Not everyone gets into any side or captain the side on Merit..there are Political issues as well. These issues were there from the start..as zaharan bro pointed out..Anura Ranasinghe was to play the first test match for SL just as we were tossing Arjuna was brought in..!
i hope you read about Hashan's appointment as the Manager and the Minister of sports not approving cos Hashan is a supporter of UNP |

Yes. But, never was a PM who is the head of state in india.
But, Abul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was not a true tamil. I think he is a muslim who spoke tamil. Just look at his full name.
APJ Abdul Kalam was born in 1931 in a middle-class family in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, a town well-known for its Hindu shrines. His mother tongue is Tamil. His father, a devout Muslim, - wikipedia

Murali is not a limited over bowler, he is a attacking bowler more suitable of Tests, but with his experience he can contain the batsmen. There is only ten overs allowed in a limited over match, and he needs a certain field to bowl his kind of off spin.he is not very effective when there are field restrictions. Still I don't think he refuses if he was asked to bowl. That is the captains job to use his bowlers not when the bowler wants to bowl, but
it is most needed. |
