I am happy to hear you saying yes!! he will be given the captaincy..isn't Murali senior to Mahela/Sanga..what about the Vice Captaincy? it should not affect his bowling..
Its okey. I did not take it personaly. But it is so sad some people try to bring racism to Cricket as well.This is so tragic..
I am not in the cricket board or decision maker. But I am sure when it comes to the captancy decision his nationality will not play any role in it.. Former Cricket board chairman Mr Chandra Shafter was a Tamil.. Please try not to define everything in racial way |

how about vice captaincy? he is a joker for that too
Dhoni always consulted Murali in IPL & brought Murali whenever he wanted to pressurise oppostion.
they are jokers to tell that Murali is a joker. |

Most sinhalese will vote along the party lines. Some will vote based on opponent. Some will vote along race lines. Some will vote for the religous affiliation. and some for popularity. If the incumbent is bad like George W, anyone can become the president from the opposition party. Trick is to get the ticket from your party. Cart never before the horse.

let me answer you on a Cricketing view..
do you know who is the current Captain of India? it is the great Kumble..people asked the same question that majority are asking here..but Kumble in his first season as a captain had a tuff Tour of Australia and he was so head strong not only he led India well in the test series also sorted all the on the field controversies as a true leader.
here is my question..why was he given the captaincy earlier..
He was a senior member over looked?
so don't give reasons for not giving Murali the captaincy..
I really don't know whether Murali wanted the Captaincy but I am sure he would have been so proud to captain the Sl side..

you have to have the leadership qualities. You have to be sort of a commander of your troops. I was told that Murali does not have a commanding personality and he is pretty much a joker in the team
