FIFTY (50) lorry loads of food and other essential items had been dispatched to un-cleared areas in the northern province during the period between 4 July 2008 and 10 July 2008.

Those consignments had reached areas in KILINOCHCHI and MULLAITIVU districts via OMANTHAI and UYILANKULAM Entry/Exit points.

The stocks contained rice, dhal, dried fish, clothes, fuel, spices, building materials, vehicle spare parts, medicine and the such like which are needed for the use of civilians in un-cleared areas.

A total of 1667 civilians had crossed over to the un-cleared areas through those checkpoints while an estimated 1586 civilians had arrived in VAVUNIYA from un-cleared areas during the said period.

Please go tell that to Mahanayaka and all other yellow robed Ayatollahs first and then come here and preach the Tamils. You know very well it won't work in Sri Lanka. The Sinhala Buddhist chauvinism will never allow anything like that to happen in Sri Lanka.

Take a look at the sad saga of Kadigama the former foreign minister. :)))

This is your short sighted catholic view. Think in long term.

You and Eelamaya need to overcome your religious bias views.

The government has claimed a series of military victories in recent days against the rebels. Troops seized an important coastal base used by the rebels' naval wing last Wednesday and pushed deeper into the north Sunday, taking control of a rebel base in the village of Illupakadavai.

However, Nadesan said he did not consider the offensive a threat to the rebels' fight for an independent homeland for the country's ethnic Tamil minority.

'We have always used many different tactics and strategies to deal with such offensives,' he wrote. 'We have repeatedly demonstrated our ability to convert the Sri Lankan government offensives into our favor.'

UNP didn't support Kadiragama, I guess.

Tell me one instance that Tamils don't get equal opportunities in Sri Lanka.
