what is wrong in giving people power to look after their affairs ?. just because north and east happens to be a tamil majority area it does not mean giving power to people of north and east is thinking in racial terms.
Criteria for devolution of power should be based on finding the most economical way to develop Sri Lanka. It should not be a compromise for those who want a separate state.
It does not matter whether the leader is Sinhalese or Tamils. A capable intelligent Tamil leader is more beneficial to Sinhalese than a useless Sinhalese leader. Similarly, a capable intelligent Sinhalese leader is more beneficial to Tamils than a useless Tamil leader. |

unitary state is an utter failure. federal type systems work well in many countries.

this is not often practised. In india they have proved electing prsidents/PM FROM VARIOUS ethnic groups. but It wont work in SL.YOU CAN TELL these rosy theory but it will not happen in reality. |

Please go tell that to Mahanayaka and all other yellow robed Ayatollahs first and then come here and preach the Tamils. You know very well it won't work in Sri Lanka. The Sinhala Buddhist chauvinism will never allow anything like that to happen in Sri Lanka.

On July 23, 1983 law and order in Sri Lanka virtually collapsed as mobs went on a rampage, inciting anarchy and fear, uprooting Tamil people, looting and burning their property and killing many of them.
25 Year! Tamil independence have come a long way!
We have a functioning goverment for Tamils in our homeland! The Sinhala government in Sri Lanaka keeps violating our border, still. But, the 80 million Tamils around the world are united to fight back! |
