Captain:
It was a concerted effort by the locals, few Buddhist priests and 'assistants' from the Catholic church. The Catholic church is more threatened by the Christian conversions more than the Buddhists.
Buddhists, as the majority, is responsible for all this. Without their support others would not do it!
In fact this us a Sinhala habbit... burning, looting, raping,... ! Shameful! |

LTTE Strategic Bomber Crashes while preparing for July 23 Celebrations!
Despite Gota's big talk and spending of half a billion $$, he could not catch a single TAF yet.
The 21 fighter planes of TAF is yet to deliver their most lethal WMDs on the invaders! The fall of Jaffna and Trinco woud take only three hours, on one dark night! Oh man! |

| Friday the 25th of July of this year (2008) sees the 25th anniversary of what all Eelam Tamils will always remember Black July . This date is permanently etched in the minds of all Eelam Tamils never to be erased! There are today, some young Tamil men and women in their 20s, who were born after this traumatic event. They were fortunate in that they were personally spared the trauma and tension that their parents may have undergone. I am sure these youth will have read, at least a small cross section, of the many books and articles published by persons who had been in the thick of Black July . The fact that their parents and consequently, their progeny are alive today is just plain luck! One such person, who now lives in the USA has written a book that describes vividly, his experiences, is Siva Pragas, best known to Sri Lankans as Sivapragasam |

However, Defence Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella told Thursday's news briefing that the next aim of the troops would be to re-capture Kilinochchi, now the heartland of the LTTE. For reasons that are now too obvious, the pros and cons of such a move cannot be examined. So are the analytical aspects arising out of them. |

The second thrust of the Army, north of the Weli Oya sector, continues. Troops advance into the jungles ahead of them, before the LTTE's main fortifications, weeks ago led to their seizing the once renowned 1-4 base. This is a camp complex where LTTE leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran, was known to be hiding before and during the period when Indian Peace Keeping Troops (IPKF) were in Sri Lanka. Thereafter, it had been abandoned. Troops also captured the 'Michael Base.' The guerrillas had weeks earlier abandoned this base after blasting some of the buildings there. Army sources say guerrilla intelligence cadres who were scouting around the area occasionally used the 1-4 base. At the time the troops seized the base, they found fresh evidence of a group of some eight to twelve cadres having cooked meals there. |

It was only two days ago the troops uncovered an underwater jetty in recently captured Viduthalaithiv sea tiger base south of Illuppaikadavai. The 150m long jetty could have easily concealed more than 100 small sea tigers boats anchored there.

If HINDU Tamils in TN try to create a separate country, they will understand the bitter taste of own HINDUS of north.
In fact, LTTE had a some level of tolerance since a bulk of Sri Lankans are peace loving Buddhists..! |

With one shot, the Government expects most actors to counter their colleague, Ramanayake with the facts they have learnt on Esala Poya Day. That is not all. They also want them to speak out at meetings in the North Central Province where the Sri Lanka Army's one time Chief of Staff, retired Major General Janaka Perera is contesting. To the decorated soldier turned diplomat, the campaign has become an arduous task.
His friends and foes alike agree that he had been at the forefront in the military campaign against Tiger guerrillas. That he became a high profile target as a result, is no secret. However, despite Police warnings of a serious threat against him, no security cover has been provided. The move is not surprising. Provision of security today is not based on threat perceptions but rather on how the person to be protected is disposed towards the Government.
In the case of Janaka Perera, the issue is further compounded by the fact that the Government's nominee for the Chief Ministership in the North Central Province, Berty Premalal Dissanayake, is surrounded by security personnel provided by the Government. The Opposition puts the figure as high as 200.
The UNP High Command has recognised this as a tactic adopted by the Government to use security as a lever for bargaining purposes with the Opposition. Repeated letters from the party's General Secretary to provide security to its high-profile organisers are being ignored, and they believe the Defence Ministry is monitoring these requests with political objectives.
it looks like govt is helping ltte to target Janaka Perera easily for his attrocities committed on tamils in Manalaru. |

SO Now it would be clear to everyone the claim by slaf that they target sea tiger boats successfully was a lie. because ltte never anchor their boats openly to be easily identified by SLAF. ALL what were attcked by the slaf were fishermen's boats. |
