A Sri Lankan toddler in UK has died after a television apparently toppled over and fell on him. The one-year-old boy from Swansea, was named by the local Evening Post newspaper as Ghazi Riyaz Mohammed. The paper said the boy's parents have two other children and were thought to be from Sri Lanka and seeking asylum in UK.
Four Sri Lankan men have been sentenced to life for attempted murder in London. Armed with swords, pickaxe handles and pieces of wood, the four tried to behead a 20-year-old man in August 2006.
Two Sri Lankan brothers arrested in a terrorism swoop in Mid Wales England appeared in court on Thursday.
Muraleetharan, 46, of Beechwood Drive, Newtown, and Vithytharan, 39, of Crescent Gardens, Newtown, are accused of conspiring to support the banned terrorist Tamil Tigers organisation in Sri Lanka.
They face a single charge of conspiring to receive equipment for terrorist purposes between January 2003 and December 2006.
Their case was adjourned at Kingston Crown Court for a hearing in October and they were given bail.
