Mr. Ariyalai,

Yes. Ariyalai is a great place. We (my husband and I) were with an IBM Engineer for a couple of days and brought back a lot of onions (1974)!!!

Coming back to what I asked you, though you say a country is run by its consitution, can we believe that? For instance even GB does not have a consitution but goes by precedents. Constitutions are only good to enact law and we know law is an a**. I know every consitution anywhere in the world would always say they treat people equally whatever their caste, creed, religion etc. But does this happen anywhere? In India the muslims are a minority, In Malaysia the tamils & the chinese are a minority, even in Australia the aborigines are a minority. But are they treated as equals to the majority? Are the undergoing the persecutions as did the tamil people in SL? Bit of a conundram, isn't it?

Looks this is a common problem to both side, either side hasn't hold these places for EVER. :)

Thalaivar - when you say EVER it is very abstract.

Ariali
At least you could limit your comments and attack the man, not the cast he belonged. I thought that Buddhism disapproves cast differences!

Sorry for the late reply...afternoon nap and all....

I am surprised that you are offended more by the fact that I attacked a 'caste' rather than 'a dead person'....I am confused over your set of values here. I would think that Man should be before Caste! Besides, in the big scheme of things, a man's caste should not matter at all. It's what he stood for that should matter.

yes Buddhism does condemn cast and race based biases....but doesn't Hinduism and every other religion teach the same..why drag only Buddhism to the front?
