| Forum members can refrain from unnecessary speculation and unwanted reactions which will help the Southern extremists to divert the analysis of this vital horrific news and set their agenda of blaming LTTE for all their ills. |

According to whom? SL Govt spokesman..
They were only 13 miles away and if they are advancing by now the War should have been over..That was also from the Govt source.
Well anybody with sense would know it. Since that is what they should do. But whether they do that or not is not my concern.
Well the distance for the final objective and the time frame could change due to many reasons. So it is normal for these kind of comments. |

Possible mass grave found in eastern Sri Lanka: police Wed Jul 16, 8:21 AM ET
COLOMBO (AFP) - Several human bones have been found in an unmarked grave in Sri Lanka's eastern district of Batticaloa, police said Wednesday.

The site was discovered by a group of people who were digging a well on Tuesday.
'We are not sure if it is a mass grave. Several bones were unearthed. It could belong to one person or several people,' said police spokesman Ranjith Gunasekara.
The eastern district was the scene of heavy fighting between government troops and Tamil Tigers up to one year ago, when the rebels were ejected from the area.
Gunasekara could not say how long the bones had been there.
'The area judge visited the site today (Wednesday) and we have to wait for his report,' he said.

I have visited Gaja's page and I think Nale anna wrote what he felt the reason for me to be neutral (by the way a lot think I am a peelamist--Naaki!!)..Sritharan is annoyed and angry cos I put Mendis is Army uniform with Fonseka.Unfortunately it was related to cricket and it was taken from a newspaper. We had a discussion on my space but he went off line and accused me of a Traitor for Tamils..
I have left a reply in Gaja's page and that is all..
I think our Srithran is our good old friend Raves/Bhariv..just I think ..i am not sure tho.. |

the close proximity of the mass grave to the SLA camp suggests, it is work of the SLA or the SLA must be aware of it because no one could bury the dead without the SLA noticing It.. in this way karuna is a very important witness.
what we don't know is when are these dead people shot and buried and how long there is a SLA camp..
once we know the answers we can clearly say who is responsible..

There were also lengths of cloth that may have been used to tie up the victims before their death
Probably a owner of a textile shop or a robber of a textile shop killed to rob the belonging while running in the night with the goods. and here we are ............ |

Thursday, 17 July 2008 12:57
Three thousand Indian troops will accompany Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his protection during his stay in Sri Lanka to attend next month's SAARC summit.
Noting that it would not do to offend the region's super power, Minister of Media, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said today (July 17th) that the government was compelled to make allowances.
The arrival of the Indian troops would also lessen the security responsibilities of the government, he said.
Minister Abeywardena also said that 75 per cent of the SAARC budget amounting to nearly Rs. 2,880 million is reserved for the provision of security for the visiting heads of state.
Local media has reported that India would send three helicopters for use by its premier, including two combat helicopters for his security.
In addition, New Delhi is to deploy three warships armed with the latest equipment, including anti-missile systems, in the Sri Lankan waters for the duration of the SAARC summit a the BMICH.
