Nale Anna
it was hard when you simply try to put me down and questioned me as to I am a real Tamil on only one issue, that i don't shout against Sinhalese ..well let me tell you quite clearly, I am a Tamil but I don't support terrorism, I am not for Separation but I want a peaceful and a accepted solution for Tamils.. I don't like the way LTTE does it..
There are other Tamils who have said the same thing and unlike me they are married to Tamils too.
There is no way you can take the Tamil out of me or others in the forum just cos they want to have Peace by talking and not by fighting..

Honestly ,
If Prabhakaran had started asking peelam in a Non Violent way . Half of the Singala mooniya would have fought with him towards that Goal.
In a way we should be thankful to him for not taking that route |

We can manage without GSP+.. Sour Grapes...
No guarantee for GSP-Plus, says British Foreign Office Minister Malloch Brown
(Lanka-e-News, July 17, 2008, 5.00 PM) British Foreign Office Minister Malloch Brown who is visiting Sri Lanka now has stated in Trincomalee that he cannot assure Sri Lanka will receive GSP-Plus concessions due to the level of ongoing human rights violations in the country.
He made these observations when he met the Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan and the Provincial Councilors of Eastern Provincial Council in Trincomalee.
At the discussion, UNP councilor and garment factory owner Daya Gamage stated that the industry would collapse if the country would not receive GSP-Plus concessions. Provincial Council Minister M.L.A.M. Hisbulla said to the British Minister that the Provincial Council should be granted the land and police powers under the 13th amendment to the constitute. The Ministers pointed out that the central government was not providing adequate funds for the development of the Eastern Provincial Council.
Chief Minister Chandrakanthan pointed out that his aim was to establish sustainable peace in the under developed Eastern Province which was strife torn for over two decades.
Provincial Council Chairman M.K.D.S. Gunawardhana said that the province needed another university since the Sinhala students lack facilities in Eastern University.
British High Commissioner of Sri Lanka Peter Heyse also participated in the discussion.
British Minister Malloch Brown was to meet civil society and media organizations in Colombo yesterday (16). Reports say that the British Minister was aware of the threats leveled at the media by the government. |

you will ask for reference for these figures
as per your own PM so far this year nearly 750 sla killed and 4500 injured .IF these are figures accepted by gosl the true figures will be at lease 3 times more .

Dear Mr.Selliah(One of the contributors)
There are a couple of very important lessons the Tamils of Sri Lanka need to learn, and learn fast
The world of today is a busy place, has very complex problems and has very little or no patience with people or organizations that are xenophobic, racist or simply violent for any reason. There are no valid justifications for terrorism. That's a fact. The LTTE and Tamil demands for a mono-ethnic homeland under totalitarian rule of a monster is suicidal and that will lead to your people's annihilation while the world would not care a damn. The entire concept is the one which many millions died in Europe and elsewhere when the world saught to defeat Adolf Hitler. The Tamils need to dis-engage from their self-inflicted victimology and learn to move on within an inclusive world order.
The Sinhalese and majority Sri Lankans, including millions of Tamils who live in peace among the Sinhalese adhere to democracy, pluralism and acceptable constructive behavior. The world will not accept anything less and will not tolerate the barbarism that has taken root in the northern Sri Lankan jungles. Have you taken a look at the recent video released by the LTTE, which shows thousands of old people and mothers with infants being forcibly conscripted to face the Sri Lankan Army? These are your people and they will die in their thousands when they carry weapons. Do you have no sympathy for them?
The majority of Sri Lankans I speak to, are sympathetic to the plight of these people. The ground realities of Sri Lanka are mercifully quite different and are absolutely contrary to what the eelamist lobby claims overseas.
Rest assured that true facts are seen first hand by the outside world. The days of glib lies are over.
