Api Wenuwen Api UK - PART1

Sunday, 13 July 2008 - 11:44 PM SL Time

THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE in cooperation with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka is building 50,000 housing units for armed forces personnel. The project is phased over five years, with 10,000 houses to be completed each year. Already 1620 housing units are being built in Ipolagama, and are expected to be completed within six months. Stage two is expected to begin in Horowpathana. Each housing project also includes schools, shopping complexes, gymnasiums, and other facilities. These, along with new roads and other services will ensure that the surrounding region will also benefit from significant infrastructure development.

Gunapala,

Yes, we have to help those who are helping to keep our country intact.

We joke around here and make fun, but when it comes to the disabled
soldiers we have to give till it hurts.

Yes, No objection there if that what Gosl feels like doing it for forces who are fighting the LTTE.
I also would like to see the Gosl building Houses for the Tamils who lost theirs 25 years ago..High time they gave compensation..

I also want to see the people who were affected by Tsunami get their new houses..

Berty, Today is the 13th July 2008 and for you it must be the 14th in HK. Appapilai Amirthalingam was brutally gunned down at his residence at No 410/27 , Bullers Road, Colombo 7 , in the night around 7.30 by a group of Tamil youth on 13th July 1989.

I am sure when his family and thousand of other families are compensated by the EElam Govt. The GOSL will do the same.

Lalith

It was a Political killing and it has nothing to do with Innocent tamils losing their houses..(I was talking about the 1983 riots)

what a comparison Lalith..on one side you said your dad saved Tamil lives during 1956 riots and on the other hand your quoting some political killing as an answer to my remark on paying compensation to Tamils who were brutally looted and killed in 1983..

when the farmers lost their livelihood in Mavilrau they were paid compensation but why not Tamils..

Berty,

Political Killing? ....Do you mean to its OK? he is a innocent Tamil also.

My brother-in-laws Rice Mill & his vehicles in Love Lane, Trincomlee ( BTW Love Lane was a real lane)were burnt by the Tamils
and he never received a penny as compensation. He was chased a way by the Tamils from Trinco. The other brother -In-Law Ice making Factory and Cigarette agency was attacked with grenades and the old man lost one eye. Those guys transport Fish to Pettah Fish market daily and their lorries were burnt down. Never got a penny.

In this conflict Sinhala & Tamils, both would have thousands of stories to tell. So those who were affected has to wait things settle down and negotiate compensation when this War ends.
