one is a military veteran with battlefield experience and military brains. one is a person with a pen and paper, who depends on calling 'contacts' and get 'info tips' and write as if he has all the military experience.
and I leave it to you to guess who's who. :))
but Hariharan could not win ltte. but IQBAL ATHAS has inside information from members of sldf who figths on the ground. Iqbal Athas's past analysis proved to be correct in most of the cases.that is why he was targeted by GOTA , SARATH AND GANGS.
so I leave it to you to guess who is more authoritative analyst.:)

Canada has always been a nation of immigrants, one that welcomes newcomers from all over the world. But traditionally, the price of admission was that newcomers left their murderous old-world disputes at the door. In recent years, we have forgotten to charge this fee. The result: disgraceful displays such as last weekend s rally in which a group of Canadians unashamedly shouted slogans in support of a terrorist group. It is enough to give multiculturalism a bad name.
The Irish Canadians did the same for the IRA. Canadian Jews raised funds to buy arms for Israel's independence struggle from Britain. Sikh separatists in Punjab were funded by Canadian Sikhs. It was the efforts of the Jewish diaspora that made Israel a free country, Why shouldn't Tamils do that?
The Sinhala Nazi Nacho said that after the ban of WTM, the Tamils in Canada are going to be scared to express their support to the LTTE. Instead of to be scared at home, thousands of Tamil Canadians took to the street to show their support to the LTTE. The disappointed Sinhalese are now hanging onto Canada's most racist, anti immigrant news papers' editorial as their last hope to defeat the Tamil power in Canada. Sinhalese are very funny people indeed. LOL :))))

Enough with propaganda labels. I detest this deceitful, poisonous term, 'terrorism,' which has become a propaganda weapon to demonize political opponents. Those accusing others of terrorism are often far more guilty of it themselves.
Sri Lanka's Sinhalese control the army, navy and air force. The Tigers have only small arms, in large part purchased with money raised by Canada's 250,000 Tamils.
Canada has recently made itself an enemy of the Muslim world and now faces attacks on its citizens and business interests abroad. This is not a good time to kick the Tamil Tigers hornet's nest.
Sometimes it's better to avert your gaze, as previous Canadian governments did, and not seek trouble -- particularly when the Tigers have committed no hostile acts against Canada or the U.S.
Terrorism is a tactic, not a thing. Tamil Tigers are fighting for independence after decades of oppression. We westerners have forgotten that armed resistance to intolerable oppression is a legitimate right of all peoples.
One really must ask why Ottawa is sticking its nose into another remote, bloody foreign war and creating new security problems for Canadians when it can't provide even Second World health care to its own people.

Marksman
I read your post on Housemaids to ME or anyother country..We in Hong Kong call them as 'Helpers' and I fully agree it is not only sinhalese, you get Tamils and Muslims too go to work. yes!! in any job you will find a few who will be abused and some Helpers take advanatage of their boss's too.
People leave SL to earn a living for their family and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
My only comment will be for the SL high commission to do a better job in looking after the welfare of these poor Helpers.
I come across a lot of helpers in HK and they are very nice people. What we can do as sri lankans is to help them when they have issues with their employers.
Marksman--ur present helper is well experienced but when they get another chance to go they will leave you and go..U have to expect that..

Stock Market crashes to one year low
Despite Government s much trumpeted military victories and sound economic growth, investors don t seem to have much cheer, as the Colombo Stock Market plunged to its lowest levels in a year.
The main All Share Price Index fell over 1% or, over 28 points, to finish at 2,372 points, a one-year low. It was also the 10th consecutive fall that took to its lowest close since July 19, 2007. Brokers said that, the plunge was over concerns of the impact of high interest rates and inflation on corporate earnings, added to worries of the long-running civil war.
The Market has fallen by nearly 12% from an 11-month high on April 23. Market capitalization yesterday was Rs. 767 billion, down by 6.5% from staart of this year.
Investor sentiment is very weak, mainly on earning fears, Reuters quoted Assistant Research Manager, HNB Stockbrokers, Geeth Balasuriya, as saying.
High inflation and high interest rates are pressurising profit margins of the companies due to high costs, while some companies are discouraged to go for new investments due to high borrowing cost.

Thivya the french toast,
The disappointed Sinhalese are now hanging onto Canada's most racist, anti immigrant news papers' editorial as their last hope to defeat the Tamil power in Canada
we r not holding on to anti immigrant newspapers as our last hope.
It's WTM that got banned in canada, not us.
Tee hee hee. |
