MR wasnt there in the '50s. we are here and now. we have no need to continue upon the sins of the generations before us. we live today and we have to the face the problems of our time. LTTE is a terrorist group that has to be defeated. tamils have issues that have to be addressed. dwelling on the past and boasting about this is so and that is that wont solve any of our problems. its just good enough to pass the time.
at the time of independance tamils should not have asked for 50-50 and they should have been brainy enough to understand the sinhalese are the majority and they were suppreseed by the british and tamils were promoted by the british. if the tamils want to continue from the days that were before the independance, we are not prepared to concede. period.

Finally facts come out. Before independence, tamils had separate identity. There had their own Kingdom. British brought that Kingdom under their control and handed over freely to sinhalayas in 1948. That is the fact!! |

Finally facts come out. Before independence, tamils had separate identity. There had their own Kingdom. British brought that Kingdom under their control and handed over freely to sinhalayas in 1948. That is the fact!!

There was Jaffna provincial kingdom for few centuries after 12th century. No east though. |

I hate to say this but I do agree with you. We cannot blame the Tamil leaders of the past for their blind belief that the south were honest and just. We have to recognize the problems we are facing today and look at the future.
To do this we have to accept the fact that Sinhalese are and never were trust worthy. The constitution of the country was written by the Sinhalese for the Sinhalese. Based on the logic of numbers the current system will never be fair to Tamils.
So Tamils have to do some thing about it. It might not be perfect but VP took over that challenge and we should be thankful. |

Political leaders Sinhalese/Tamils in the past/present have done everything for them to be in power.

Velupilliai Prabhakaran (a non Sri Lankan) wants the capture power with the help of Tamil nationalism. |
