Nale,
the UNP won that election to bring in a presidential form of govt. in Sri Lanka and they got 140 odd seats out of 167. In their manifesto nothing mentioned about granting any form of decentralized power to any one. it is actually centralizing all the power to a single entity the presidency.
So in a democracy, should you grant to the wishes of 18 seat holding party or the one which is holding 140 odd seats? |

somethings are possible and some are not possible
Politicians have interesting eye-catching election manifestos like JVP who promised a 70% pay hike when they did their election. Only practical things will work.
Today even TNA says that they want an undivided sri lanka where possible.

so lets work on a practical solution like a federal structure which RW had in his manifesto based on which he initiated the peace talks.
So think. Sinhalese are no superior race to Tamil but LTTE is not going to catch an ELAM in your or my life time.
If LTTE accepts a federal solution openly Sinhalese majority will have no option but to go for that because thats the right thing.
Until LTTE campaigns for this stupid non existent PEElam the war will go on and people will just die and people will just fight for no result. |

The men you refer to as the Singhala gunmen will go away as soon as LTTE is gone. BTW, Do you know the next most senior ranking officer at the Airforce is a Tamil ? And no singhalese have killed him so far for 28 years ?

Dont need to be in the FDL
Now the people in Mallavi thnnukkai and Mulathiv areas also feel it.
AND SOME LIERS LIVE IN EAST HAM ALSO FEEL IT
THAT IS WHY THEY SUDDENLY BECAME ANTI WAR
