Not only the Pillayan Group, the LTTE should also surrender arms if the Sri Lankan conflict is to be resolved, they have said.

Oh if only those silly British, Americans, Free French, etc. had just surrendered we could have avoided world war II :):)

Around 39 civilians fleeing from the grip of the LTTE in Mullaitivu sought protection with the Security Forces in Pulmodai on Wednesday evening, Military spokesman Udaya Nanayakkara said.

The fleeing Tamils are in the SL army occupied Territory and they sought protection. Why do they need Protection and from whom? Perhaps they are afraid of the thieving rapist Sinhala thugs in uniform.

And I translated your feelings for the benefit of others reading your post.

RK, I read the article. Everything will be fine for GOSL if all ends well in october/november. If not, if things go bad for the GOSL in terms of GSP+, economist will score higher points. that is the situation.

Nacholibre,

Why should I be desperate? The desperate people are the Sinhalese who want government jobs. If the economy goes down, there will be less of those jobs available. Tamils are not given government jobs in any case. If they can't do some business the only option available is to emigrate or become a terrorist.

Nacho,

It is not a big deal, Sinhala army can show some edited video clips to fool the Sinhala south. It is easy to allow the independent reporters rather than doing all that gimmicks.

Remember, the other day, you showed a Youtube where they showed a mountain in Mannar. I told you that Mannar is a flat land and there are no hills or mountains. :))

More subtly, politics seem to have become less open and accountable.
The reins of power have been drawn into the hands of the three Rajapakse brothers. In a region where democratic dynasties are common, the Rajapakse clan is unusual.
It does not hail from the traditional English-speaking elite that produced Sri Lanka s other presidents. Mahinda, from Hambantota, represents the rural south, the Buddhist provincial bourgeoisie, rather than the urban elite. To offset weak traditional loyalties, he has curried favour by lavish ministerial appointments. Sri Lanka has a huge, 108-strong cabinet.

One minister resigned, saying his ministry should be abolished since it had nothing to do.

SL PVT Ltd.

a family business. :)
