Founder leader of the TMVP, Vinayagamoorthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman, returned to the island today (July 03rd), said the party s spokesman Asath Moulana.

Karuna, who had arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake on board a flight from the UK, has spoken to Moulana over the phone.

After breaking away from the LTTE as its eastern military leader, Karuna allied with the government and formed the TMVP.

However, he fled the country following a dispute with close associate Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan, and arrived in the UK on a forged passport.

He was arrested and sentenced to a prison term for the offence, after his request for political asylum there was rejected.

The Sri Lankan government had been implicated in the forged passport matter, which it had rejected.

Owing to good conduct, Karuna had been freed before having completed his sentence.

In the meantime, Pillayan took control of the TMVP, and reportedly murdered a number of his predecessor s supporters.

He also contested polls for the Eastern Provincial Council in alliance with the government and presently serves as chief minister.

Now he will be blaming himself about his foolish decision in 2004. now he will be reduced to nothing even by his own party.

Wo! I see the desperation here..lolzz

If LTTE could wipe out Dayan, they will be happy since they know what a headache he has been to them..

lolzz

Nacholibre,

There is no need for the Economist to get desperate. They are laughing their heads off at Dayan's Rottweiler diplomacy.

Army Commander said Few years before, that Army is not going to take Vanni but they will take Humanitarian offensives.

From Mavilaru On wards less Military did..LTTE fall to Military Tactics, still it is happening...ultimately Vanni will fall to SLA.

Clearing MSR will boost Military to a massive front, while giving options to LTTE, to attack lengths of coloumns...can they deliver..?

Nacholibre,

If you had read the article carefully, you would have understood that the Economist, in diplomatic language, was saying that Dayan's actions were not helping the efforts to get GSP+ renewed. I translated that into Sinhalese for the benefit of people like you.

And I translated your feelings for the benefit of others reading your post.

RK, I read the article. Everything will be fine for GOSL if all ends well in october/november. If not, if things go bad for the GOSL in terms of GSP+, economist will score higher points. that is the situation.
